My Rollover
Colorado State Highway 83
Just thought I'd share my little experience. I was 16, it was September 2009, it was dark, and i was speeding. I was traveling up Colorado State Highway 83 towards Parker, CO at around 5 am at 95 mph. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I looked away for a second, and when I looked back, I had come up on a curve in the road, and I was on the wrong side of the road about to go off roading.
Due to inexperience and speed, I WAY over corrected, sending my car spinning off the inside of the curve. I slid sideways down an embankment, bottomed out, broke both axles in the car, and rolled. Colorado State Patrol said I rolled 3 times, both side to side and end over end. As a rolled, my car (as it was upside down in the air) barely took out a barber wire fence (the top of the car almost missed the fence post.) I ended up 300 feet off the road in the middle of a field. Thank god my car landed on its wheels. I suffered a concussion and a few minor scratches. I was able to get out of the car through the window and call for help. The only reason I am alive to tell my tale was because I was wearing my seat belt... So this is a cautionary tale to everyone who doesn't... Its very very true, although its cliched. Seat belts save lives.
The car was a 1996 Saturn SL2
